Schools for Impact

Inspiring and empowering our future philanthropists

One of the most effective ways to solve some of Sydney’s most pressing issues and create positive and systemic social change is to provide philanthropic opportunities for Sydneysiders.

One of the most effective ways to solve some of Sydney’s most pressing issues and create positive and systemic social change is to provide philanthropic opportunities for Sydneysiders.

Through the Impact100 model, individual donors can come together to pool their donations and create impactful change through giving to local place-based charities.

Under the Schools for Impact program, our aim is to encourage and empower 1000 students to fundraise and contribute $100 each to create a pool of $100,000 to gift to a local charity of their choosing.

How to Get Involved?

Driven by benefit to the community, we have created a suite of resources for use in high schools for teachers and students to replicate the Impact100 model in a school setting. Our innovative online platform is designed to empower educators and support impactful education by providing access to a library of PDF teaching resources, organised by stage and subject. Our user-friendly interface allows easy navigation, resource sharing and bookmarking favourites and provides everything you need to get started.

Resources for Educators

We have developed a set of teacher materials suitable for use alongside the Geography, PDHPE and Wellbeing subject areas for students in Years 8 – 10 that consist of 10 lesson plans, associated student activities and research.  The resources are designed to explore key areas of need in their local community, with a special focus on First Nations People, People living with a disability and Refugee Communities, while being mindful of achieving targeted learning outcomes.  The content also explores opportunities for Project Based Learning for students to engage with the Impact 100 process and learning the skills and tools they need to be more active in their community.

Fundraising

From bake sales to themed events, challenge campaigns and art auctions, there are lots of ways for students to fundraise. They can organise a school charity walk or run, offer services such as dog walking or lawn care, collaborate with their peers and families to run a community car boot sale, partner with local businesses for sponsorship or host concerts.

Beyond just a resource platform, "Schools for Impact" believes in the power of continuous learning and collaboration. We offer a space where teachers can share insights, learn from peers, and collectively shape the future of education.
