A Impact100 Sydney unites and empowers individuals to give together, creating transformational local impact. For the past six years, more than 100 individuals, families and businesses have been donating at least $1000 each annually, creating a major grant of $100,000. Impact100 funds specialist, local charities to dream big and transform the lives of people in need across the Greater Sydney area.
A Schools for Impact is built on the Impact100 giving circle model. Under the Schools for Impact program, our aim is for 1000+ students to fundraise and contribute $100 each to create a pool of $100,000 to gift to a local charity of their choosing.
At the end of each year, we host a granting event, where students have the opportunity to choose which charity they want to support. Our focus area changes from year to year. In 2023 we are focussed on supporting programs that address homelessness in our community. In previous years we have chosen to donate to a wide range of causes, including education, employment, youth justice and refugee communities to name just a few.
Charities apply to receive grant funding, with the finalists giving presentations at a pitch event in front of students who have raised their $100 donation to be part of the Schools for Impact program. Students then vote to choose which not-for-profit will receive the major grant and put it to work to make real, lasting impact on the lives of Sydneysiders experiencing disadvantage.
A Fundraising isn't just about raising funds; it's a powerful tool that can significantly benefit high school-aged children during their formative years. Beyond the financial support it provides to local, grass-roots charities, fundraising offers opportunities for personal growth, community connection and skill development that can enrich the lives of students and create philanthropists of the future.
A Leadership and responsibility, team collaboration, community engagement, problem-solving skills, goal setting, and empathy and social awareness are just some of the many skills students can learn when participating in a giving circle.
